M47 – A contemporary home.

M47 – A contemporary home.

Our latest project is the two-unit family home at 47 Mogyoródi Street, combining everything we at BrightOne believe about conscious design and contemporary architecture. Let’s take a closer look!

After several successfully completed and handed-over single-family projects, at the beginning of 2024 our client commissioned us to take things to the next level: to design two new homes on a nearly 1,100 m² plot. From several creative concepts, the client — together with the chief architect of Veresegyház — ultimately approved a design characterized by modern forms and a highly functional layout. The two separate residential units, located on a roughly level plot, are connected by a covered carport. Based on the recommendation of the chief architect, the roof above the carport was designed with an eave break toward the backyard, referencing local architectural traditions.

On the ground floor, a spacious open-plan living area with an American-style kitchen is complemented by a sound-insulated master bedroom with its own bathroom and walk-in closet, along with a foyer, pantry, and guest WC. A gypsum-concrete staircase leads to the upper floor, where three bedrooms, a large bathroom, and the mechanical room are located. The upper balconies, fitted with glass railings, are shaded by adjustable awnings. On the ground floor, the living room is distinguished by a wood-clad façade, while the rest of the exterior is finished with cream-colored plaster.

The street-facing elevation is defined by the prominent staircase volumes, which frame the carport in a gate-like, two-story mass, highlighting the entrances. Signature design elements found in our previous residential projects — such as cantilevered structures, hidden gutters, and dynamic massing — are present here as well.

The heat pump is discreetly placed under the carport canopy, hidden from street view, with space reserved for a future garden storage unit. The fence design echoes the forms of the buildings, subtly concealing the waste bins and utility meters, thus maintaining a cohesive overall appearance.

Our office was responsible for the entire design process, including the simple notification plans, detailed construction documentation, and visualizations. The buildings are expected to be completed in the second half of 2025, until which time we continue to support our client with on-site architectural supervision and practical guidance.
